Robi Domingo and Gretchen Ho started dating way back in 2012. On March 2013 Domingo blazoned his feeling towards Ho by a statement during an interview saying,"Just thinking about her makes me smile for some reason. Being with her is a different kind of feeling. When I'm with her, I become more of myself. Ayaw ko 'yung 'You complete me' na 'yun pero I begin to discover myself more through her." Both have consistently been saying of how they would love to spend their lives together, but earlier this year, the ex-couple released a joint statement through 'Tonight with Boy Abunda' talk show, that the two decided to part ways as there is "too much happening" for both. However, they added that they are not closing their doors to each other but there's no appropriate time for the relationship to grow as of the moment.
Not long before their break-up, since the fact that they are working on the same Tv station, there will always be chances of seeing each other together on stage. During the Bb. Pilipinas, the two had been the center of attention for almost all of the audiences because Domingo unfold a statement to Ho by saying, “Grabe noh? Lots of things that happened. Gusto kong sabihin na, sorry. Masakit, mahirap, pero kailangan. But trust me when I say this, during this process I think I could honestly say that I am saving up all my love for you. I wish I have more time kasi time is the best thing that I could give you right now.” Everyone squealed with excitement as if seeing a romantic movie on the spot. Another scenario wherein both were trapped in an awkward situation again, was seeing each other during the Star Magic Ball. Since their relationship has imprinted a 'perfect relationship, perfect couple' to everyone's minds, they could not resist the teasing crowd. Another event that put them in the same situation earlier was the 31st PMPC Star Awards For TV, wherein Robi Domingo was one of the hosts along with Richard Gutierrez, Ruffa Gutierrez and Jodi Sta Maria which happened at Henry Lee Irwin Theater at Ateneo de Manila University. When Umagang Kay Ganda was announced as the Best Morning Show Hosts, people started to squeal upon seeing Gretchen Ho as the representative of the show, approaching the stage. After receiving the award, Ho made her acceptance speech saying, "Hindi po biro ang gumising ng umaga. It's a matter of Commitment". Upon hearing the word "Commitment" the crowd shouted even more while seeing Domingo getting busy with his index cards looking for something. Ruffa then spiced up the situation by saying, " Ang saya mo ngayon Robi.. Kinikilig ka Robi". Robi responded by saying,"Ang saya nyo, ha?"
